To all family, friends, and loved ones,
Our hectic day started with loading the buses at 3:45am. After a 3 hour quiet drive to D.C , we arrived to Washington airport with a full day ahead of us. We had a quick connection in El Salvador before arriving to Managua, Nicaragua at 3:50pm. We were told that Nicaragua had been experiencing an unusually cold dry season, but were confused when we felt the 91 degree weather. When we arrived to JHC, everyone helped unload the luggage filled with donations and we hurried to pick our preferred bunkbed. Soon after, we were thrilled to hear that we would be eating yummy burritos as our first real meal since leaving the U.S. We are exhausted, but excited nontheless to see what tomorrow will bring when we tour Managua! Make sure to check back in.
Also, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ABE (Our awesome faculty leader).
P.S shout out to my mami and papi in Houston!! Can’t wait to see you and tell you about all the amazing food I ate here too (potatoes)!!!
